Planning Drinks for Your Party
Getting drinks quantities right is one of the trickiest parts of party planning. Too little and your guests go thirsty; too much and you waste money. Our drinks calculators use industry catering standards to help you estimate the right amount of alcohol, soft drinks, mixers, and ice for any size event.
As a general rule, plan for approximately 2 drinks per guest for the first hour and 1 drink per guest for each hour after that. A standard 75cl bottle of wine pours about 6 glasses, while a 70cl bottle of spirits makes roughly 28 single measures (25ml UK standard). These calculators account for event duration, mix of drinkers, and whether you are hosting a casual party or formal celebration.
