Pizza Party Calculator — How Many Pizzas to Order
Work out how many pizzas to order for your guests based on adults, children, and pizza size.
How We Calculate This
This calculator uses standard pizza consumption rates to estimate quantities.
The formula
Total slices = (adults x 3) + (children x 2)
Pizzas = total slices / slices per pizza
Slices per pizza: small/10 inch (6), medium/12 inch (8), large/14 inch (10). Always rounded up to whole pizzas.
Frequently Asked Questions
Adults typically eat 3 slices and children eat 2 slices. Hungry teenagers may eat 4 slices. If pizza is the only food, add an extra slice per person.
Large (14 inch/36cm) pizzas with 10 slices are usually the most cost-effective per slice. Medium (12 inch/30cm, 8 slices) and small (10 inch/25cm, 6 slices) pizzas are handy for kids parties where you want more variety in flavours.
Order 1 flavour per 3-4 pizzas. Always include at least 1 plain margherita for fussy eaters and 1 meat option. For 10 pizzas, order 3-4 different types.
Garlic bread, chips, and salad complement pizza well. Plan 1-2 portions of garlic bread per 4 people and a shared bowl of salad per 6-8 people.
